I started teaching at Villanova again this week — and walked into the classroom in the middle of the most disruptive time in college sports I have ever seen.
The NCAA's five-for-five eligibility rule. The class of 2022 players left out. Federal court going for the players, the NCAA getting a stay. State courts in Louisiana, Texas, California, and Kentucky going for the players. An NFL player requesting his release to go back to LSU. The SEC and Big Ten saying no — if you've signed a pro contract, you can't play. Lawsuits coming from every direction.
I'm not just watching this. I'm in it — signing NIL contracts right now for players caught in the middle of all of it.
