Back after a whirlwind trip to Japan, moving between Tokyo and three other cities over a ten-day span.  I am highly impressed with the culture and the calm of the country; the people were 100% welcoming and kind to us as visitors.  And I am blessed with being able to travel with my son to faraway places as we do.

This week I discuss two major media deals, one where ESPN gains a partner (the NFL) and one where ESPN loses a property (the UFC).  I remark on NFL franchise valuations, Jon Gruden’s recent court victory and a “hold-in” that protected tens of millions of value.
