Matt wasn't invited to the NFL combine before the 1998 draft. Scouts told me he was "not draftable." I organized a private workout at Boston College, sent invitations to every team in the league, and got exactly one RSVP.

I agreed to pick him up at Boston Logan. I'd never met Andy Reid. I had a sports car. I pulled up to the arrivals terminal and spotted the guy in Packers gear — and realized immediately this was going to be a problem.
