Fernando Mendoza goes number one to the Raiders and signs a four-year, $55 million contract. Sounds massive. But at $13-14 million a year, he'll be the lowest-paid starting quarterback in the NFL. That's the value of drafting a quarterback.

Now look at Arizona. The Cardinals took Jeremiah Love, a running back, at number three. His contract will be around $50 million over four years. That $12.5 million a year instantly makes him one of the highest-paid running backs in the league before he's taken a single snap.

Same draft. Same round. Completely opposite value.

In today's Daily Dose, I break down why the Cardinals got no bang for their buck, what positions actually give you draft value, and why Love has zero margin for error.
