The NBA made it official today -- deals with both Kalshi and Polymarket, signed. The league that spent months in talks just crossed the bridge.
Here’s the thing: a decade ago everyone was asking whether leagues would ever partner with FanDuel and DraftKings. Now those platforms look like the traditional option. Prediction markets are the new frontier -- and the NBA just planted its flag.
The NFL is the last holdout. They filed an amicus brief with the Supreme Court asking for a ruling on who should regulate these platforms. They’re worried about integrity: officiating bets, anthem length bets, the kind of action that undermines the game itself. I get it. But the walls are closing in.
My full take -- including what the NFL’s position actually means, and whether it can last -- is below.
