Brendan Sorsby gave up his college eligibility to enter the NFL supplemental draft. The NFL said no.
He can't play college football. He can't sign as a free agent. He can't enter the draft until April 2027. And his attorney Jeffrey Kessler — the same lawyer who sued the NCAA on his behalf — is now threatening to sue the NFL too, invoking the CBA and the NFLPA.
There's one problem with that: Sorsby isn't a member of the NFLPA. You only become a member when you sign a contract. He hasn't. So whether that legal threat has any teeth is a real question.
I've been following this from the beginning. Today I'm breaking down why the NFL said no, whether Kessler actually has a case, and what Sorsby's options look like from here. Spoiler: they're not great.
