But the big news today is the trade. The Vikings took JJ McCarthy 10th overall in 2024 — the highest quarterback pick in franchise history. He lost his entire rookie year to a knee injury. Started 10 games in 2025. Threw as many interceptions as touchdowns. Got buried on the depth chart behind Kyler Murray and then Carson Wentz.
Today they traded him to the New York Giants for a 2027 fifth-round pick.
